Ingredients

Crust

  • 1.5 cup lukewarm water
  • 2 tbsp active dry yeast
  • 1 tbsp sugar or honey
  • 4/.25 cups flour I prefer half whole grain wheat and half all purpose
  • 1 tsp salt
  • pinch italian herbs optional

Sauce

  • 6 oz tomato paste
  • 3/4 cup water
  • 1 tbsp oil
  • 1 tsp onion powder
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 1 tsp all purpose flour
  • 3/4 tsp salt
  • 1 tbsp pizza seasoning or Italian seasonings if that's what you have
  • 1 tsp sugar optional

Instructions

Crust

  • Preheat the oven to 400 degrees.
  • Combine lukewarm water, yeast and sugar into a medium/large mixing bowl. Let the yeast proof or rise in the water. (takes about 10 minutes).
  • Add half the flour and knead it with a bread mixer or stir it by hand for 5 minutes.
  • Add salt and gradually add the rest of the flour until the sides of the bowl are clean. Divide the dough into two halves.
  • Roll the dough on a floured surface then make a nice rolled edge.
  • Spray cookie sheet or pizza pan. Lay the crust dough onto the pan and let it rise for about 10-15 minutes.

Sauce

  • Mix together all the ingredients.
  • Spread sauce on the pizza crust, add toppings, then 1-2 cups of mozzarella depending on how cheesy you want it.
  • Bake on the top rack for about 15 minutes. If doing smaller pizzas it will take less time so keep an eye on it.
